Basketball Recap: Center Takes a Loss

Center played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Wyandotte Bulldogs and fell 63-32. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 410th in Missouri, while the Bulldogs are ranked 198th in Kansas).

Wyandotte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaylynn Hunt, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Hunt is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Germya Sanford, who posted 13 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Center and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Wyandotte, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center will challenge Guadalupe Centers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Center is facing Guadalupe Centers at the right time seeing as Guadalupe Centers is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Wyandotte has already played their next match (against Lawrence Free State), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
