Basketball Recap: Worcester Prep Victorious

Worcester Prep lost to Chincoteague back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Worcester Prep Mallards escaped with a win against the Chincoteague Ponies by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54.

Chincoteague lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Camaury Davis, who posted 22 points and six rebounds. Byron Hurst was another key player, putting up 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Worcester Prep's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Chincoteague, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

The future could be bright for both Worcester Prep and Chincoteague: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Worcester Prep will try to hand Indian River their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Chincoteague will try to hand Parkside their third-straight loss when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
