Basketball Game Preview: Hart County Bulldogs vs. Elbert County Blue Devils

Hart County hasn't had much luck against Elbert County recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Hart County Bulldogs will square off against the Elbert County Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Hart County had just enough and edged Athens Academy out 45-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Elbert County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 59-39 margin over Banks County. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Leopards are ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hart County's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Elbert County, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

Hart County was able to grind out a solid victory over Elbert County when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 54-41. Will Hart County repeat their success, or does Elbert County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
