Basketball Game Preview: Kamiak Knights vs. Shorewood Stormrays

The Kamiak Knights will face off against the Shorewood Stormrays at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Kamiak is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 74-48 to Glacier Peak. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Grizzlies are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Shorewood hadn't done well against Mountlake Terrace recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Shorewood had just enough and edged Mountlake Terrace out 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Stormrays have posted since December 7, 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Shorewood and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Kamiak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Kamiak strolled past Shorewood when the teams last played back in June of 2021 by a score of 64-45. Will Kamiak repeat their success, or does Shorewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
