Northwood piles up the points against North Moore

Recap: Northwood Chargers vs. North Moore Mustangs

The Northwood Chargers stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to North Moore for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-24 win at home. With Northwood ahead 46-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Drake Powell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on ten points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists. That's the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. Cameron Fowler was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Despite the loss, North Moore had strong showings from Colby Pennington, who scored eight points along with six rebounds, and Austin Patterson, who scored seven points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Moore struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Northwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for North Moore, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-8.

Northwood will square off against Southeast Alamance at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Southeast Alamance's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for North Moore, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Southwestern Randolph at 6:30 p.m. Southwestern Randolph has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 243 points over their last four matches.
