Basketball Recap: Calvary Academy Takes a Loss

Calvary Academy lost against King's Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Calvary Academy Warrior took a blow against the King's Christian Knights, falling 87-47. The Warrior were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-30.

Calvary Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kieran Riccobono, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 17 points and five assists. Riccobono continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Shawn Fraumeni, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 12 points.

Leading King's Christian to victory were Cam Homer and Owen Atkins. Homer posted 24 points, while Atkins put up 20 points. That's the most points Homer has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Johnson, who earned nine points.

Calvary Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for King's Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Calvary Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for King's Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
