Softball Recap: Juanita Sanchez Complex Comes Up Short

Juanita Sanchez Complex extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-15 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Davies Career & Tech Patriots. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Cavaliers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Davies Career & Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games.

For Davies Career & Tech's part, Gabriella Fisher made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Fisher has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Davies Career & Tech let Madison Blanchette and Tiana Hernandez run wild. Blanchette went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two doubles, while Hernandez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Blanchette a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobbi Calder, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Juanita Sanchez Complex does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Davies Career & Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Tiverton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
