The Cherryvale Chargers will take on the Baxter Springs Lions on Thursday. Baxter Springs took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cherryvale, who comes in off a win.

17 must be Cherryvale's lucky number: they beat Fredonia with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Chargers blew past the Yellowjackets 17-1. That looming 17-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chargers yet this season.

Meanwhile, Baxter Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Riverton on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Cherryvale has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Baxter Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Cherryvale might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Baxter Springs in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
