Basketball Game Preview: Eastmont Wildcats vs. Moses Lake Mavericks

The Eastmont Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Moses Lake Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Eastmont lost to Eisenhower on the road by a 73-58 margin. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Lucas Babst, who went 9-for-17 to rack up 24 points. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyse Lewallen, who posted 16 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Eastmont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Moses Lake slipped by Sunnyside 67-66 on Thursday. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Moses Lake's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points over those games. As for Eastmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Eastmont came up short against Moses Lake in their previous meeting last Friday, falling 78-73. Can Eastmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
