Volleyball Recap: Sophia Ocasio and Jocelyn Serra Secure Win for Lake Nona

Lake Nona took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Timber Creek, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions skirted past the Wolves 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted against the Wolves since October 2, 2020.

Lake Nona took Timber Creek into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-18, 25-19, 26-28, 15-11.

Lake Nona was led to victory by Jocelyn Serra and Sophia Ocasio. Serra had 25 digs and three assists, while Ocasio had 12 digs and three aces. Those 25 digs gave Serra a new career-high.

The win got Lake Nona back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Nona will challenge Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timber Creek, they will square off against Apopka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
