Softball Recap: Jupiter Warriors vs. Western Wildcats

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jupiter can now relate to. They fell just short of the Western Wildcats by a score of 4-3 on Friday. Jupiter's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sasha Seidel put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 7.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Seidel has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Seidel was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Seidel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam Basen, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

On Western's side, Ali Solo spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Danae Falquez was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with a stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Arlette Caravaca, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Jupiter's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Western, they pushed their record up to 26-4-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.

Jupiter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory vs. Seminole on the 25th.
