Baseball Recap: Cass Tech Comes Up Short

Cass Tech suffered their closest loss since May 10, 2025 on Friday. They fell just short of the Western International Cowboys by a score of 4-2. The Technicians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cowboys earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Cass Tech saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jelani Jabari, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cass Tech's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 15-5. As for Western International, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cass Tech will square off against Dearborn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Western International, they will take on Melvindale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
