Baseball Recap: Dickinson Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Dickinson took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Odyssey Charter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Owls 5-3. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on six straight.

Joseph Quigley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Dickinson: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 7-9 otherwise. Quigley was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Asante Jones, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Dickinson's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Alex Perez Luyando also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Dickinson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Odyssey Charter struck out ten times.

Dickinson pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs across that stretch. As for Odyssey Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Dickinson nor Odyssey Charter have any future games scheduled.
