Volleyball Recap: Southeast Lancers vs. Girard Trojans

Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Girard Trojans, falling 3-0. If the Lancers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Trojans when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-13.

Braelyn Sutton paced Southeast's offense, picking up 12 kills. Sutton got some help from Elena White and her 11 assists. Sutton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Girard found their leader in freshman Brilee Black, who had nine digs.

Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 8-21-1. As for Girard, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-11 record this season.

Southeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Crest on the 14th. As for Girard, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Prairie View on the 20th.
