Softball Recap: St. Clair County Comes Up Short

St. Clair County might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Pell City who claimed the real prize. St. Clair County fell just short of Pell City by a score of 4-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Saints of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

St. Clair County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayla Bass, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

St. Clair County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10-1. As for Pell City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-7.

Looking ahead, St. Clair County will be taking part in a tournament against Satsuma at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Satsuma is coming into the contest with four straight victories on the road, so St. Clair County will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Pell City, they will take on Arab in a tournament on Saturday.
