Basketball Recap: Rock Hill Sets Scoring Season-High Against Portsmouth

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Hill). In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 68-67 victory over the Portsmouth Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Redmen: when they faced off against the Trojans back in January, they had to take a 60-55 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rock Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stephen Ison, who went 6 of 13 en route to 21 points. That's the most points Ison has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kelan Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

The win made it two in a row for Rock Hill and bumps their season record up to 6-10. As for Portsmouth, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rock Hill will host Dawson-Bryant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portsmouth, they will be playing at home against Fairland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairland will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Portsmouth surely won't give up without a fight.
