Football Recap: Nordhoff Piles Up the Points Against Del Sol

The Nordhoff Rangers humbled the Del Sol Jaguars with a 62-6 victory. Considering the Rangers have won seven matchups by more than 33 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Nordhoff's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Desi Canfield led the charge by rushing for 130 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Jaxson Kirk was another key back, rushing for 130 yards and one score on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nordhoff was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

Nordhoff didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jonathan Verduzco led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Bret Winters got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Nordhoff and bumps their season record up to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for Del Sol, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Nordhoff will face off against Buena Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Coyotes will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. Del Sol does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
