Basketball Game Preview: West Branch Bears vs. West Liberty Comets

The West Branch Bears will head out on the road to square off against the West Liberty Comets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Branch is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, West Branch had to suffer through a 90-20 loss at the hands of Regina. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Regals are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, West Liberty beat Washington 48-42 on Tuesday.

West Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Things could have been worse for West Branch, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-29 loss to West Liberty in their previous matchup back in January. Can West Branch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
