Baseball Recap: Greenwich Victorious

Greenwich posted their closest victory since May 6, 2025 on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Stamford Black Knights 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Greenwich got a great performance from Brayden Shockley as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Shockley has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Luke Wells was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ryder Caruso was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Greenwich's win bumped their record up to 6-11-1. As for Stamford, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Greenwich will square off against rival Ridgefield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Stamford is set to take on their familiar foe Ludlowe at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
