With a playoff win on the line, Fayetteville rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Brookeland Wildcats. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won nine matches in a row.

Not much got past Jack Schley, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Brookeland off the board. Schley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Fayetteville's record now sits at 17-3. As for Brookeland, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 21-3 record.

Fayetteville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
