Baseball Recap: Atlantic Takes a Loss

Atlantic lost against Santaluces last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Atlantic Eagles fell just short of the Santaluces Chiefs by a score of 10-9. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Thomas Krolikowski put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Atlantic is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 2-7 otherwise. Krolikowski was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Pedro Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Landon Thompson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Atlantic's record is now 4-8. As for Santaluces, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Somerset Academy - Canyons at 6:30 p.m. on April 3rd. As for Santaluces, they will be playing at home against Lake Worth at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Santaluces is facing Lake Worth at the right time seeing as Lake Worth is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
