Baseball Recap: Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Central Catholic's offense. They came up short against the Catholic Central Shamrocks on Wednesday, falling 7-0. The Irish haven't had much luck with the Shamrocks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Ryan Dempsey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March.

Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Catholic Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Central Catholic will take on Bowling Green at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Catholic Central, they will welcome Hartland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
