Basketball Recap: Chester County Comes Up Short

Chester County lost against Jackson North Side on January 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Chester County Eagles lost 79-55 to the Jackson North Side Indians. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Indians are ranked 48th).

Javonte Smith was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 9 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds for Jackson North Side. The team also got some help courtesy of Antoine Currie, who posted 14 points.

Chester County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13. As for Jackson North Side, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Chester County Eagles face off against the Jackson South Side Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson South Side will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Chester County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jackson North Side, they will challenge Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
