Baseball Recap: Broadalbin-Perth Find Success

Broadalbin-Perth won the last time they faced Fonda-Fultonville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Patriots came out on top against the Valley Hawks by a score of 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Zach Thompson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Broadalbin-Perth let Mike Eglin and Garrett Jackowski run wild. Eglin went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Jackowski went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most runs Eglin has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Goebel, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Broadalbin-Perth's record now sits at 10-6. As for Fonda-Fultonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broadalbin-Perth will head out to face off against Glens Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fonda-Fultonville, they will venture away from home to challenge Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
