Basketball Recap: Cumberland Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Cumberland extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Zack Harmon. The Cumberland Pirates took down the Arcola Purple Riders 41-23 on Tuesday thanks in part to Harmon, who posted five points and 14 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Cumberland's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Arcola, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4.

Cumberland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-28 victory against Blue Ridge on the 17th. As for Arcola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-37 win against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond on the 17th.
