Basketball Recap: Martinsburg Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Martinsburg Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Independent Baptist Academy Kings 60-30. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 297th in West Virginia, while the Kings are ranked 115th in Maryland).

Independent Baptist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Scott Sisco, who went 7 of 16 en route to 18 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Sisco's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Rainey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Martinsburg Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Independent Baptist Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
