Baseball Game Preview: Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish vs. Timothy Christian Trojans

For the second straight game, Bishop McNamara will face off against Timothy Christian. The Fightin' Irish will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Bishop McNamara is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Bishop McNamara was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Timothy Christian on Monday. The Fightin' Irish blew past the Trojans 20-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Fightin' Irish considering their two-run performance the game before.

Braylon Ricketts was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Preston Payne was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Jacob Lotz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bishop McNamara was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timothy Christian only posted a batting average of .158.

Timothy Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Bishop McNamara, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
