Oakwood entered their tilt with Valley View on Wednesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Spartans. The result was nothing new for the Lumberjacks, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Nate Patterson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh Tribble, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Leo Holzberg was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Oakwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oakwood pushed their record up to 11-2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Valley View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
