Basketball Recap: HOPE Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Eli Budgick and Zeke Shelton

After flying high against The Fletcher School on Tuesday, HOPE Academy came back down to earth. The Royals lost 66-46 to the Union Day Gryphons on Thursday.

HOPE Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zeke Shelton, who posted 21 points, and Eli Budgick, who put up 18 points. That was a full 39.1% of the Royals' points, marking the third time in a row Budgick has earned more than a third of the team's points.

HOPE Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

HOPE Academy and Union Day will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Royals see the court they'll take on Charlotte Lab School at 4:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Union Day, their break will end when they face Union Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on December 2.
