Basketball Recap: A.C. Flora's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

A.C. Flora needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Teonna Draughn. The A.C. Flora Falcons claimed a resounding 66-22 victory over the York Cougars thanks in part to Draughn, who posted 18 points along with five boards and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar McCray, who had ten points. What's more, she also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, York saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jailee McDowell put up 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for McDowell.

A.C. Flora's record is now 5-10. As for York, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

A.C. Flora didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-40 win against Lancaster on the 8th. As for York, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-12 loss against South Pointe on the 9th.
