Volleyball Recap: Benton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It's playoff time, and Benton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Albany Comets 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Zephyrs as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Benton wouldn't go down easily and took Albany into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 18-16.

Benton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madeline Davis led the charge by getting eight digs and five aces. That's the most aces Davis has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Faith Auderer, who had 26 digs and two aces.

Benton's victory bumped their record up to 5-19. As for Albany, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

As of now, neither Benton nor the Comets have any future games scheduled.
