Volleyball Game Preview: Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. GRACE Christian Eagles

Wake Christian Academy has won 19 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while GRACE Christian has won 19 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Bulldogs will host the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Wake Christian Academy won the last time they faced Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill and Evann Curry did her part to make sure it happened again. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Lion with a sharp 3-0 victory last Thursday for which the team can thank Curry, who had 13 digs and four aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Wake Christian Academy took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-4, 25-10, 25-6.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only GRACE Christian walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Concord Academy on Thursday.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-18, 29-27, 27-25.

Wake Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 23-7. As for GRACE Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12.

Wake Christian Academy took their win against GRACE Christian in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
