Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Island Charter Raptors vs. Langtree Charter Academy Lions

The Mountain Island Charter Raptors will square off against the Langtree Charter Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Langtree Charter Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain Island Charter, who comes in off a win.

Mountain Island Charter will head into Friday's game on the come-up: they were handed a 31-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Pine Lake Prep 33-30. The win was some much needed relief for the Raptors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mountain Island Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayla Fudge, who posted six points along with 11 boards and three steals. What's more, Fudge also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Tarriah Washington, who scored nine points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Langtree Charter Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 75-26 loss at the hands of Lincoln Charter. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-11.

Langtree Charter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Mountain Island Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Everything went Mountain Island Charter's way against Langtree Charter Academy in their previous meeting back in January, as Mountain Island Charter made off with a 60-40 win.
