Basketball Game Preview: Oroville Hornets vs. Entiat Tigers

The Oroville Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Entiat Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Entiat took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Oroville, who comes in off a win.

Oroville will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 29 points on Friday, then bounced right back against Pateros on Tuesday. Oroville took their matchup with ease, bagging a 57-28 victory over Pateros. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Hornets' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Entiat was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 69-43 to Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Lions are ranked 78th).

The win got Oroville back to even at 6-6. As for Entiat, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Oroville suffered a grim 58-35 defeat to Entiat when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Oroville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
