It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but St. Pius X ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Odessa Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 1st.

Henry Bertoncin looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chase Brookings was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
