Football Recap: Carrollton Trojans vs. Douglas County Tigers

Carrollton faced Douglas County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trojans blew past the Tigers 55-22. Considering the Trojans have won nine contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cameron Wood continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 150 yards and four scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Those 150 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Zachary, who picked up 135 receiving yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Carrollton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Carrollton, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rontre Welch, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Douglas County still got an impressive performance from MIKE JOHNSON, who rushed for 42 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 139 yards on 12 of 17 attempts. Aaron Gregory also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.
