Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Mariemont's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Mariemont unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Taylor Yellowjackets, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Mariemont was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-23, 25-11.

Annie Tully paced Mariemont's offense, picking up nine kills. Tully got some help from Elle Seichter and her 19 assists. Tully also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Penelope Karlson, racking up two apiece.

Mariemont's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Taylor, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

After both having extra time off, Mariemont and Indian Hill will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Taylor has already played their next contest (against Wyoming), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
