Basketball Game Preview: Estero Wildcats vs. Fort Myers Green Wave

Estero hasn't had much luck against Fort Myers recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will welcome the Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. Fort Myers took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Estero, who comes in off a win.

Estero barely beat Riverdale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 61-22 win over the Raiders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Estero can attribute much of their success to Ashton Peterson, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Colton Rycenga, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Fort Myers unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against Oasis on Monday, falling 83-49. The Green Wave were down 67-38 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Estero and Fort Myers were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but Estero came up empty-handed after a 72-71 defeat.
