Basketball Recap: Cape May County Tech Takes a Loss

Cape May County Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Atlantic Christian Cougars 74-17. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while the Cougars are ranked 201st).

Atlantic Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charlie Costello, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Costello has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Judah Dawkins, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Cape May County Tech's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Atlantic Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Cape May County Tech has already played their next game, a 60-57 defeat against The Pilgrim Academy on the 21st. As for Atlantic Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-36 victory against Buena on the 18th.
