Softball Recap: Wesley Chapel Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wesley Chapel can now relate to. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Ridge Royal Knights on Tuesday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Wesley Chapel got a good showing from Lucy Cavall, who pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Cavall didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in March.

On the hitting side, Wesley Chapel saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Garrison, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Garrison's first of the season.

Wesley Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for River Ridge, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Wesley Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for River Ridge, they will take on Springstead at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Royal Knights 3.7, the Eagles 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
