Basketball Recap: Westside Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Westside waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 69-56 victory over the Baldwin Braves.

Westside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aldrion Jones, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Dontrell Jackson was another key player, putting up 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Westside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Baldwin still got an impressive performance from Karez Demory, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Grant, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Westside pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.3 points per game. As for Baldwin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Westside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-42 win against Hephzibah on the 4th. As for Baldwin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-51 victory against Howard on the 4th.
