The Germantown Mavericks will venture away from home to face off against the North Pike Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Germantown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Germantown can't be too worried about heading out to take on North Pike: they just beat Clinton at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. Germantown skirted past Clinton 6-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Germantown got a great performance from Mackenzie Donnell as she struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts Donnell has posted since back in February.
On the hitting side, Presley Merkich was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Julia Glasgow, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, North Pike entered their tilt with Brookhaven on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-4.
Anna Claire Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sarah Lawrence, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Ahlyana Houston was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Germantown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for North Pike, their record now sits at 4-12.
Germantown skirted past North Pike 7-5 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Germantown since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
