Basketball Recap: North Chicago Comes Up Short

North Chicago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Grant Community Bulldogs and fell 49-9. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-13 back in December of 2024.

North Chicago's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Grant Community, the victory snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 3-15 record.

North Chicago and Grant Community could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. North Chicago (ranked 664th) will meet Grayslake Central (ranked 94th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Grant Community will square off against Vernon Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 336 places (534 vs. 198).
