Softball Recap: Rantoul Takes a Loss

After flying high against Paxton-Buckley-Loda on Monday, Rantoul came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 14-1 to the Monticello Sages on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled against the Sages recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Rantoul's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Monticello, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rantoul will head out to square off against Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Maroons at the right time seeing as the Maroons are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Monticello, they are taking a road trip to face off against Olympia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
