Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is St. Joseph's Fourth in Last Five Outings

St. Joseph hadn't done well against St. Joseph Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The St. Joseph Flyers came out on top against the St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds by a score of 52-44. For the Flyers, this counts as revenge for the 49-38 victory the Bloodhounds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph Academy lost, don't look at Jason Aguilar. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikey Rivera, who earned 12 points.

St. Joseph has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for St. Joseph Academy, they dropped their record down to 14-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing San Antonio Christian the next time they take the court. St. Joseph will host San Antonio Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th, while St. Joseph Academy will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th.
