Softball Recap: Athens Takes a Loss

Athens fell victim to Canton and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 15-0 to the Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

This is the second loss in a row for Athens and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Canton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-2 record this season.

Athens will face off against Lindale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Canton, they will square off against Mabank at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
