Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Northeast Kansas Nighthawks Homeschool

Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 27) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Christ Prep Academy Patriots 46-43. Given the Nighthawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Patriots are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Christ Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Abby Theiss, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Theiss continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebekah Hanson, who posted five points along with ten boards and three steals.

The win was the fifth in a row for Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. As for Christ Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christ Prep Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-38 defeat against Kansas City Christian School on the 17th.
