            Softball Preview: Atlee Raiders vs. King William Cavaliers        
        
		
        
        
            After both having extra time off, the Atlee Raiders and the King William Cavaliers will shake off the rust and duke it out  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Atlee barely beat Henrico the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders never let the Warriors get on the board and left with  a   14-0  win  two weeks ago. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their one-run performance the  matchup before.

 Sierra Kegley was a major factor no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news, Atlee got a  massive  performance out of  Shannon McKeever, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  McKeever a new career-high.  Camdyn Metts was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 Meanwhile, King William put another one in the bag  two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Rappahannock with a sharp  12-2 victory.
 King William pushed their record up to 3-0 with the  win, which was their ninth straight  at home dating back to last season. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Atlee, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
 Atlee was able to grind out a solid  victory over King William in their previous meeting  back in April of 2016, winning  4-0. Do  the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
