League recap: Sheridan bests Denver West in blowout

2A Colorado recap October 22, 2013

Sheridan took down Denver West 28-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Ridge View Academy led 2A Colorado in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on Manual.

Elijah Huff was a passing and rushing force as the Thunderbolts fell to the Rams. Huff's key target this week was Trevon Hall, who caught 2 passes for 36 yards.

Vince Moquin made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bennett beat Kent Denver. He grabbed 2 sacks.

Joey Matarazzo put up the best numbers through the air as the Sun Devils lost to the Tigers. He finished with a total of 7 completions for 101 yards and 1 touchdown. Matarazzo's favorite target this week was Anders Soderberg, who caught 3 passes for 63 yards.

Kent Denver's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Sun Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matarazzo has thrown for 543 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Soderberg has 12 catches for 252 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bennett takes on the Rams. As it stands, Rick Jacoby's team is in second, while Sheridan is in fifth.
