It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Royals have posted since March 22nd.

Briana Clark was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits. Clark was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Sullivan was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Havana Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hume-Fogg only posted a batting average of .172.

Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet's record now sits at 13-8. As for Hume-Fogg, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet is taking a road trip to face off against Lawson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hume-Fogg, they will welcome Tennessee Heat at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
